Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam directed officers to strengthen crime control through scientific investigation, modern technology and proactive policing.
Held at the Commissionerate headquarters, the Commissionerate's first half-yearly crime review meeting for 2026, the meeting was attended by DCPs, ACPs, Circle Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and officers from various wings. The Commissioner examined the crime statistics of the first half of 2025 and 2026 and reviewed the progress of investigations and law and order measures.
Gaush Alam directed the officers to expedite the disposal of cases including long-pending investigations till 2024 and ensure that the charge sheets are filed within the stipulated 60- and 90-day time frames. He stressed close monitoring of cases involving crimes against women and children, including those registered under the POCSO Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He also directed officials to improve detection of property offences, speed up the recovery of stolen property and intensify action against cybercrime by promptly converting eligible NCRP complaints into FIRs. Greater use of the CEIR portal for tracing stolen mobile phones was also emphasised.
The Commissioner called for wider adoption of technology-driven policing through platforms such as NATGRID, Samanvaya, Gandeev and Sudarshan, besides effective implementation of CCTNS 2.0, e-Sakshya and Onsite FIR systems.
Gaush Alam also ordered stringent enforcement against drug trafficking, illegal PDS rice transportation, sand smuggling and gambling. He instructed officers to intensify night patrolling, improve road safety by addressing accident-prone black spots, respond promptly to Prajavani and Dial 100 complaints, and maintain surveillance on social media to prevent disturbances to public order.
Additional DCP Venkataramana, ACPs and officers from all police stations and wings of the Commissionerate attended the meeting.
