Addanki: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar visited theAddanki constituency on Tuesday, distributing free bicycles to students of government high schools and reaffirming the Telugu Desam-led coalition government's commitment to quality education.
During his visit to Zilla Parishad High School in Kopparam village of Santhamaguluru mandal, the minister distributed 72 bicycles to students with support from the ASSIST voluntary organisation. He said that 11,044 bicycles have so far been distributed free of cost to high school students across the Addanki constituency, made possible through contributions from numerous donors.
During an inspection of the midday meal programme, he directed officials to dine at a government school every day to ensure food quality standards are maintained. He cautioned that no compromise would be tolerated on nutritional quality and asked parents to periodically share school meals to monitor standards themselves. The minister stressed that DEO, MEO, and other officials bear direct responsibility for ensuring the 'Talliki Vandanam' cash benefit reaches every eligible beneficiary. He also announced that Rs 20 lakh has been sanctioned for a compound wall at ZPHS Kopparam, with a dining hall to follow shortly. Later, the minister inaugurated a Kapu Community Hall built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in Kommalapadu village of Santhamagulurumandal,and announced plans to construct around 30 such halls across the constituency through donor support.
