Miryalguda (Nalgonda): A fire accident occurred at an electricity substation in Venkatadripalem village of Miryalaguda mandal on Sunday.

The fire broke out suddenly with flames releasing from a transformer inside the substation, causing panic among the villagers.

Upon receiving the information, fire department personnel rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. Officials stated that a major disaster was averted with the support of local residents. According to preliminary reports, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

Power supply was temporarily disrupted in Venkatadripalem and nearby villages. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, which has brought relief to the locals. However, officials confirmed that the substation suffered significant property damage.

Electricity department staff have initiated repair works on the damaged equipment and are taking steps to restore power supply at the earliest.
