A major disaster was narrowly avoided at Nampally Railway Station after a fire broke out on a stationary train on Friday. The blaze started in an air-conditioned coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Express while it was waiting at Platform 4.
Thick smoke quickly filled the area, causing significant panic among passengers. Railway staff acted quickly and summoned emergency services. Three fire engines arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread to the rest of the train. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, and everyone was moved to safety.
Passengers expressed their relief that the fire was controlled so rapidly. Railway officials have now launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Early reports suggest it may have been an electrical fault.
The station has since returned to its normal schedule today.
