A woman working at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik has filed a detailed complaint accusing five colleagues of sustained harassment, including inappropriate remarks, unwanted physical contact, stalking, and offensive comments about her religion.
According to her statement, the issues began soon after she joined the company in June 2025. During her training period, she alleged that a team leader frequently entered sessions without any official role and made personal and suggestive comments, including questions about her marriage and remarks about her being alone while her husband was away.
As she progressed into her role, the situation reportedly worsened. The complainant accused another colleague of repeatedly approaching her without consent, sitting close to her, and engaging in inappropriate physical behaviour such as touching and attempting to hold her hand. She also alleged that he made explicit propositions and continued such conduct despite her objections.
The complaint further mentions repeated verbal harassment, including remarks about her appearance and personal life. She also alleged that certain individuals made derogatory comments targeting her religious beliefs, which she said caused emotional distress.
In addition, another accused employee was said to frequently visit her workstation, behave inappropriately, and make suggestive comments. The complainant also described incidents where physical boundaries were crossed under the pretext of helping her with work tasks.
She stated that these incidents took place over several months, from mid-2025 to early 2026, at the company's office in Nashik. Initially, she chose not to report the matter due to fear of losing her job.
The complaint names five individuals and includes allegations ranging from harassment and stalking to inappropriate touching and offensive remarks.
The issue has now drawn wider attention, with the National Commission for Women (NCW) setting up a fact-finding committee to investigate the matter. The case is part of a broader scrutiny involving serious allegations at the Nashik unit.
In response, TCS stated that it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy toward harassment and confirmed that the employees named in the complaint have been suspended pending further investigation.
