Travelers between Hyderabad and Vijayawada can now benefit from a new air route launched by regional airline Fly 91. The airline has begun operations to connect the two Telugu states, aiming to reduce travel time and make air travel more accessible to the general public.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, virtually flagged off the service from Srikakulam today (Friday), officially inaugurating the route. The initiative seeks to offer swift, affordable travel options.
In his address, Minister Naidu highlighted the government's commitment to improving regional connectivity, especially for Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. He expressed optimism that this new service would help turn the Prime Minister's vision of enabling the common man to fly into a reality. He also noted that the flight would be particularly beneficial given the high traffic between Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
For passengers, the journey that typically takes around 5 to 6 hours by road can now be completed in approximately 50 minutes to one hour by air. With Hyderabad's prominent IT sector and Vijayawada's growing business hubs, the service is expected to be a significant boon for entrepreneurs and professionals. Fly 91 is also committed to keeping ticket prices affordable and competitive with other airlines on this route.
