A GHMC sanitation worker was killed after a speeding RTC bus rammed into her at Amberpet on Thursday. Following the incident, the GHMC workers protested by blocking the road and demanded action against the bus driver.
The victim, M Pushpa, was crossing the road and an RTC bus hit and ran over the victim. The woman died on the spot due to the severe injuries.
Following the death, the GHMC workers sat on the road and blocked the thoroughfare for an hour, demanding action against the bus driver and compensation to the victim.
Police from Amberpet reached the spot soon after receiving information. A case has been registered. Investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
