The meteorological department has issued rain alert to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for next five days due to the surface trough and advised the people to be cautious as the system is likely to cause heavy rains, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
A 'Yellow Alert' has been issued in many districts, and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
Telangana districts such as Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts are likely to witness heavy rains on 19th, 20th, and 21st. The weather pattern has changed altogether after a dry spell, and Hyderabad has been receiving heavy rains in the last few days.
Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected in the North Coastal and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh on the 19th. The weather department has warned of scattered rainfall and rough seas in the state as fishermen have been told to stop going to sea. Farmers and herders have been asked to take care as there are fears of lightning. The rains have come as a relief to farmers, and it is expected that the trend will continue for some more time.
