Amalapuram: IEEE Power and Energy Society Day was celebrated at BVC Engineering College on Thursday, with participation from students and faculty of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department.
The programme was organised under the guidance of college principal Dr D Maheshwar with the theme "Innovating Today, Energising Tomorrow." As part of the event, a series of academic and technical activities was conducted to encourage student engagement and awareness of emerging energy trends. These included an essay writing competition, project expo, poster presentations and PowerPoint presentations focusing on the "Future of Renewable Energy in India."
Approximately 60 students participated in the activities, presenting their ideas and projects on sustainable energy solutions and technological advancements in the power sector. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and explore innovative approaches in renewable energy.
College Secretary and Correspondent Bonam Kanakayya, Chairperson Dr Bonam Kanakadurga, Vice-Principal Dr Akula Praveen and Administrative Officer A Y R V Prasad appreciated the efforts of the organisers and participants. Heads of various departments also extended their support and congratulated the students for their active involvement.
