The Hans India 3 weeks ago

Tirupati: In-charge Municipal Commissioner Sarada Devi has urged residents not to throw garbage and waste into the drains. As part of 'Operation Clean Sweep', along with officials, she inspected some localities in Tirupati on Thursday.

Sarada Devi inspected sanitation works in Chennareddy Colony, Ambedkar Colony and NGO Colony and asked officials to repair underground drainage and fix damaged roads. She said garbage dumped inside drains will block water flow and causes dirty water to spill onto the roads. She also said people are tying trash in covers and leaving them on the ground, increasing the city's uncleanliness.

The in-charge Commissioner told people to separate wet and dry waste and hand it to municipal vehicles when they arrive. She said this will keep the city cleaner and reduce the risk of diseases. She promised that internal damaged roads will be repaired.

Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah, Health Officer Yuva Anvesh Reddy, DEs Ramana, Shilpa, Sanitation Supervisor Chenchaiah were present.
