Karimnagar set for major infra boost with more Union govt aid: Bandi Sanjay

Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday launched a series of development projects across Karimnagar and announced that efforts were underway to secure more Central funds to strengthen civic infrastructure across the city.

Accompanied by Mayor KolaganiSrinivas and local officials, the Minister laid the foundation stone for Rs1 crore worth of CC roads and drainage works at Kurumawada in Vidyanagar. He also inaugurated Rs97 lakh development works in Rekurthi, including CC roads and pipeline projects, besides opening aRs10 lakh Mahila Shakti DharaniGramaikyaSangham building and a Rs15 lakh road and drainage project at Mogdumpur.

Participating in Van Mahotsavam-2026, Bandi Sanjay planted saplings and said Karimnagar would witness accelerated infrastructure growth through Central assistance.

He highlighted Rs900 crore under the Smart Cities Mission, Rs279 crore under AMRUT, the Rs156-crore Thigalaguttapally ROB, and the newly sanctioned Rs840 crore Urban Challenge Fund, adding that more proposals were being prepared for the constituency's development.
