Amaravati: Senior Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department officer Thella Kasturi, currently serving as regional joint director of Ongole Zone-III, formally assumed charge as the special officer of the Andhra Pradesh Information Centre (APIC) in New Delhi on Monday.
The appointment follows the retirement of P Kiran Kumar, who had been serving as Additional Director (In-Charge) in the Information and Public Relations Department while also holding full additional charge as special officer of APIC, New Delhi. Director of Information and Public Relations KS Viswanathan issued orders assigning the additional responsibility of APIC Special Officer to Thella Kasturi.
In accordance with the orders, Kasturi officially took over the charge and later paid a courtesy visit to Director KS Viswanathan. She will continue to discharge her responsibilities as Regional Joint Director of Ongole Zone-III while handling the additional assignment in New Delhi.
Also assumes charge as secretary of CR Media Academy: Earlier in the day, Thella Kasturi formally assumed charge as the Secretary of the CR Media Academy at the Academy's office on Monday.
Following the assumption of charge, Academy Manager M Bhaskara Narayana briefed Kasturi on the various programmes, training initiatives and activities being implemented by the CR Media Academy for the benefit of journalists and media professionals.
On the occasion, former Media Academy Secretary Mamidipalli Balagangadhar Tilak, along with several journalists, called on Thella Kasturi and conveyed their congratulations and best wishes on her new assignment.
