KTR says Sanathnagar TIMS would have been ready under KCR rule

BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday stated that had the KCR government remained in power, the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar would have been completed two years ago.

The BRS leader, accompanied by MLA Srinivas Yadav, visited the facility and addressed reporters, noting that these hospitals were established to provide world-class medical care to the people of Hyderabad.

He observed that while Gandhi and Osmania hospitals were the primary reliance previously, state-of-the-art TIMS facilities became accessible under the BRS tenure.

Rama Rao explained that the vision was to provide care on par with AIIMS. He recalled that twenty-two acres were utilised for the Sanathnagar facility, using cutting-edge technology and international standards to compete with private corporate hospitals.

The leader informed that TIMS units have been set up in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal, alongside a two thousand bed facility in Warangal and an expansion of NIMS. The Sanathnagar site features three blocks and emergency services supported by 300 ICU beds.

He revealed that construction cost Rs 1,200 crore and includes sixteen modern operation theatres, MRI and CT scan diagnostics, and exclusive VIP suites. Facilities for specialised kidney research, dedicated academic blocks, and a guest house for relatives are also included.

Rama Rao noted that TIMS is being developed into a system with the highest number of medical personnel in the country. A parking system for one thousand cars has been integrated into the design, which he described as a fine example of government healthcare infrastructure.

The leader concluded by reiterating that the speed of such vital public projects depended heavily on the administrative commitment shown by the previous government to serve the poor efficiently.
