Visakhapatnam: Prof Panahaduwe Yasassi Thero from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka emphasised the importance of integrating mindfulness and ethical conduct as foundational pillars of modern corporate governance.
Participating as a distinguished guest at a lecture programme focused on the theme 'ethical governance and value-based management education: application of Buddhist teachings in modern organisations,' organised by the Integral Institute ofAdvanced Management (IIAM) Vizag Business School here on Sunday, he elaborated on how timeless Buddhist teachings can effectively address contemporary workplace stress while fostering a culture of harmony, responsibility, and collective well-being within organisations.
S Ramakrishna Rao, former Vice-Chancellor of Krishna University, Machilipatnam, highlighted the significance of character-building as a core component ofmanagement education. Kosuri Ramesh Babu, head of the department of yoga and consciousness, connected the theme to broader philosophical and consciousness studies. Nimali Thakshila Withanage, coordinator of Pali and Buddhist Studies, shared valuable perspectives on integrating eastern philosophical insights with contemporary management practices.
The event was presided over by SP Ravindra, chairman of the READ Group of Educational Institutions. The lecture witnessed active participation from faculty members and students.
