Major fire accident occurs in Kamareddy, 12 shops gutted in fire

The Hans India 1 month ago

A devastating fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at the Old Bus Stand area in Kamareddy town, causing widespread destruction.

The flames rapidly engulfed a row of shops, many of which belonged to small-scale merchants. Due to the early hour and the shops being closed, few people noticed the blaze immediately.

Fanned by the wind, the fire spread within minutes, destroying approximately 12 shops and their merchandise, including groceries and other goods. Initial estimates suggest property losses amounting to around Rs 50 lakhs. Local residents expressed distress at the extent of the damage, noting that by the time fire tenders arrived, the shops were already gutted.

Police officials arrived promptly, assessing the scene and gathering evidence with the help of a 'Clues Team.' They are also examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras. Shop owners are calling on the government for assistance and compensation following the tragedy.
