Puttaparthi: A man has lodged a complaint with the District Collector alleging serious misconduct by a Tahsildar in Somandepalli mandal, accusing the official of having an illicit relationship with his wife and misusing his position.
The complainant, Venu, submitted his grievance through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) to Collector Shyam Prasad.
He alleged that he had approached the Tahsildar, Maruthi, for resolution of a revenue-related issue, but subsequently faced personal distress. According to the complaint, the Tahsildar allegedly developed an inappropriate relationship with Venu's wife, a school teacher working at a ZPHS in Chilamathur, leading to marital discord.
The complainant, who is employed in the electrical department in Karnataka, claimed that the situation escalated after repeated visits to the Tahsildar's office.
He further alleged that the official attempted to marry his wife and had earlier been involved in irregularities during his previous posting, including demanding land in exchange for issuing pattadar passbooks. Describing the incident as distressing, the complainant said the alleged actions of a responsible government official had severely affected his family life.
Taking note of the complaint, District Collector Shyam Prasad has directed the Joint Collector to conduct a detailed inquiry into the allegations.
