Hyderabad: In a first-of-its-kind road safety initiative for the region, Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad, unveiled a massive helmet sculpture bearing the message "Helmet On, Worries Gone." The landmark installation --strategically placed at a high-traffic public location near the hospital --is designed to serve as a daily, unmissable reminder to two-wheeler riders about the life-saving importance of wearing a certified helmet.
The sculpture was inaugurated in the presence of T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Commissioner, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, and B. Sumathi, Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate.
Both dignitaries underscored that helmet use is not merely a traffic regulation but a personal responsibility - one that can mean the difference between life and death. They called on citizens, institutions, and employers to reinforce this message as a community commitment.
"The trauma we see in our emergency wards is preventable. Riders who arrive without helmets consistently present with far more severe head injuries - many don't survive, and many who do face permanent disability," said Dr. Uday Krishna Myneni, chief orthopedician & Head of Department, Medicover Hospitals.
