Machilipatnam: Minister for Mines & Geology and Excise Kollu Ravindra has directed officials to expedite various development works in Machilipatnam Assembly constituency and ensure timely completion of ongoing projects.
He held a review meeting on Saturday at R&B guest house in Machilipatnam, along with district Collector DK Balaji and Joint Collector M Naveen, to assess the progress of development works in the constituency.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed issues related to land allocation and revenue clearances for several proposed projects, including establishment of resorts at Manginapudi beach, crab culture development in 84 acres and construction of Tallapalem bridge through constituency development funds. He discussed various land-related issues with revenue officials and instructed them to resolve pending matters at the earliest.
Kollu Ravindra also reviewed the progress of underground drainage system works being taken up in the municipal corporation limits at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore. He directed officials to accelerate the works and ensure better sanitation facilities for residents. He instructed officials to organise a special meeting soon to create awareness among beneficiaries regarding utilisation of Central government-funded schemes under various welfare programmes.
Emphasising the need for uninterrupted drinking water supply in villages, he directed officials to immediately repair leakages wherever identified and ensure adequate water supply during the summer season. He also reviewed allocation and utilisation of 15th Finance Commission funds within the municipal corporation limits.
Machilipatnam RDO Sambasiva Rao, Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records Lakshman Babu, Tahsildar Nagabhushanam, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Gopal Rao, survey officials and others participated in the meeting.
