Gorantla: Backward Classes Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles Minister Savitha on Monday said the State Government is committed to development and public welfare, while criticizing the opposition YSR Congress Party for what she described as politics of disruption.
She was speaking during the NTR Bharosa pension distribution programme held in Gounivaripalli Panchayat of Gorantla mandal in the Penukonda Assembly constituency.The Minister personally visited beneficiaries' homes and distributed social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa scheme.
She assured residents that new pensions would soon be sanctioned to all eligible applicants. Emphasizing transparency and accountability in welfare implementation, she said the government was ensuring benefits reached deserving beneficiaries without delay.During her visit, Savitha inaugurated cement concrete roads constructed at a cost of Rs 14 lakh and laid the foundation stone for another road project worth Rs 4 lakh.
She stated that two Overhead Service Reservoir (OHSR) tanks had already been completed in the panchayat at a cost of Rs 78 lakh.
She also announced that foundation stones would soon be laid for several blacktop road projects, including works from KH Road to Seenappalli, KH Road to Kammalavandlapalli, and Korevandlapalli to the State border, with a combined investment of more than Rs 7.5 crore.
The Minister said the government was giving priority to rural infrastructure and improving public amenities.
She added that people were extending strong support to the coalition government for its efforts in accelerating welfare and development programmes across the State.
Addressing the media later, Savitha said the government was working towards transforming Rayalaseema into a major centre of industrial growth. She highlighted the establishment of the Kia manufacturing unit in the region during the previous administration and noted that aerospace and defence-related industries were now being developed in Puttaparthi.
