Hyderabad: Glendale Academy, Suncity, Hyderabad, hosted celebrated Indian music composer, singer, and mentor Shekhar Ravjiani as part of the Global Schools Group's Leadership Lecture Series (LLS), offering students a unique platform to explore music, creativity, and self-expression.
The event also opened pathways for talented students to be selected for the prestigious Global Schools Shekhar Ravjiani School of Music (GSSRSOM).
The Leadership Lecture Series, a flagship initiative of the Global Schools Group, aims to connect students with accomplished personalities from diverse fields, enriching their learning experience beyond academics. The programme is designed to foster confidence, broaden perspectives, and inspire ambition through real-world insights.
During the session, Ravjiani shared valuable perspectives on discipline, authenticity, and emotional depth in music, encouraging students to view creative expression as a meaningful and evolving journey. The event featured an engaging hands-on workshop where participants explored vocal techniques, rhythm, and stage presence. An interactive Q&A session and a curated student showcase further enhanced the experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravjiani highlighted the importance of curiosity and openness in shaping an artist's journey. He noted that genuine willingness to learn outweighs perfection and emphasized that music is fundamentally about honesty and connection.
A major highlight of the event was the selection of promising students for the Global Schools Shekhar Ravjiani School of Music, a collaboration launched in 2020 between Ravjiani and the Singapore-based Global Schools Foundation. The programme offers structured training in music theory, vocal development, performance, and production through both virtual and in-person mentorship. It has already nurtured over 200 students across the network, with some gaining opportunities to perform on prominent platforms and debut globally under Ravjiani's label, Garudaa Music.
The session also featured Pavithra Chari, an accomplished classical and contemporary vocalist and sub-mentor at GSSRSOM. She contributed to the workshop by guiding students on vocal techniques and performance refinement, adding depth to the learning experience.
