Naini Rajender Reddy slams BJP over "corpse politics" in Telangana

Naini Rajender Reddy slams BJP over "corpse politics" in Telangana

The Hans India 1 month ago

Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Telangana BJP leadership, describing them as incompetent and incapable of governance.

Addressing a press conference at the District Congress Party office in Hanumakonda, he remarked that the much-touted "double engine" government narrative had failed, adding that even a single engine would not sustain.

Naini strongly criticised Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accusing him of indulging in "petty politics" by exploiting sensitive incidents and religious sentiments instead of securing tangible benefits for the state from the Centre. He termed the act of carrying the body of RTC driver Shankar Goud during a protest in Narsampet as disgraceful, stating that such actions had drawn criticism even from the victim's family and the public.

The MLA emphasised that political questioning was a natural part of democracy, but resorting to "corpse politics" was unacceptable. He alleged that while the deceased's family and RTC unions were willing to engage in dialogue, certain elements attempted to obstruct the process. Reaffirming the state government's commitment, he said full support had been extended to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.

Naini further accused BJP leaders of failing to provide meaningful assistance to the victim's family despite being in power at the Centre. He claimed that Telangana had not benefited from the central government and criticised previous regimes for their inability to sustain governance, contrasting them with the current administration's swift response to RTC workers' issues.

Turning his criticism towards the BRS, Naini alleged that its leaders lacked accountability and moral responsibility. He accused them of misusing RTC assets in Warangal and Karimnagar districts during their decade-long rule under the guise of leases. He also questioned the Centre's inaction on the Mamunoor Airport issue, asserting that BJP's political standing in the state would further decline.

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Naini said the Congress government remained committed to resolving public issues and ensuring the welfare of citizens. He warned that opposition leaders were attempting to mislead the public with exaggerated claims, despite having contributed to the region's backwardness over the past two decades.

He concluded by reaffirming the government's dedication to development and public service, stating that every concern raised by the people would be addressed with sincerity.
