OPPO has officially confirmed the launch of its much-anticipated F33 Series in India on April 15, adding fresh momentum to its popular camera-centric smartphone lineup.
The upcoming series is expected to include a standard variant alongside a Pro model, with early details pointing toward significant upgrades in photography and design.
Ahead of the launch, OPPO has shared key specifications, placing strong emphasis on imaging capabilities. The F33 Series will feature a 50MP primary rear camera powered by the OV50D40 sensor, indicating a continued focus on high-resolution photography. The Pro variant is also set to stand out with a 50MP front-facing camera, appealing particularly to selfie enthusiasts and content creators.
In terms of design, the OPPO F33 Pro introduces a refreshed look with what the company calls the "Starry Sea Lens Module." The rear camera layout features a large rounded-rectangular island, housing two vertically aligned circular lenses and a distinctive ring-style flash. This new arrangement aims to offer a more structured and visually appealing design compared to earlier F Series models.
The smartphone will be available in three colour options: Misty Forest, which incorporates subtle pine tree silhouettes on the back panel, along with Starry Blue and Passion Red finishes. OPPO has also highlighted a combination of glossy and matte textures, adding to the device's premium aesthetic.
On the display front, the F33 Pro is confirmed to feature a 6.57-inch flat screen, while maintaining a relatively lightweight profile at 194 grams. The company appears to be balancing visual immersion with comfortable handling.
Camera innovation remains the central theme of the F33 lineup. The Pro model will include a 50MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100-degree field of view. It will also support an intelligent auto-switch feature that expands the frame when more than two people are detected, making it ideal for group selfies. Additionally, face distortion correction has been integrated to ensure natural-looking facial proportions, even at the edges of wide-angle shots.
On the rear, alongside the primary 50MP sensor, the device will include a 2MP depth sensor to enhance portrait photography. OPPO is also introducing a suite of AI-powered tools designed to improve image quality in varying conditions. One such feature, AI Portrait Glow, dynamically adjusts lighting based on the surroundings, selecting from multiple styles to enhance portraits in low-light or uneven lighting environments.
Another addition is the Colourful Front Fill Light, which replaces harsh flash effects with softer lighting tones to deliver more natural-looking selfies, especially in dim settings.
The F33 Series will also cater to content creators with features like Popout, enabling users to create layered images with depth effects directly through the camera interface. Dual-View Video is another notable inclusion, allowing simultaneous recording from both front and rear cameras-an increasingly popular tool for vloggers and social media users.
With these upgrades, OPPO appears to be reinforcing its position in the mid-range smartphone segment by focusing on advanced camera capabilities and user-friendly creative tools. More details, including pricing and availability, are expected to be revealed at the official launch event.
