OPPO has officially shared key camera details of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Find X9 Ultra, ahead of its global unveiling scheduled for April 21. The announcement, made via a post on X, puts the spotlight firmly on the device's photography capabilities, suggesting a major leap in mobile imaging technology.
The Find X9 Ultra will feature a quad-camera setup co-engineered with Hasselblad. At its core is a 200MP main sensor that, according to the company, "rivals a 1-inch sensor." This is complemented by another 200MP sensor dedicated to a 3x "Super Portrait" telephoto lens. In addition, the device will include a 50MP 10x optical telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, making it one of the most ambitious camera systems seen on a smartphone so far. For selfies and video calls, OPPO is equipping the device with a 50MP front-facing camera.
The confirmation of these specifications aligns with recent reports that the smartphone briefly appeared in a telecom database in China, revealing a broader picture of its hardware and features.
On the display front, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. The screen may also support a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and enhanced visual fluidity. For security, the device is likely to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and run on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
Powering the smartphone could be Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The device is expected to be available in multiple configurations, including 12GB and 16GB RAM options, along with storage variants ranging from 256GB up to 1TB.
Battery performance is another area where OPPO seems to be pushing boundaries. The Find X9 Ultra is rumored to house a large 7,050mAh battery, supported by 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, promising both longevity and quick top-ups.
In terms of design and additional features, the smartphone may include a unique "Snap Key" positioned on the top-left corner, potentially offering quick access to AI-driven functions. Other expected features include stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, an IR blaster, and high durability ratings such as IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
The device is also said to measure 163.04 x 76.91 x 9.15 mm and weigh approximately 238 grams, indicating a premium yet robust build.
With its advanced camera system and high-end specifications, the Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be a strong contender in the flagship smartphone segment when it launches later this month.
