Hyderabad: Osmania University has extended the summer vacation for all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes, including those offered by its constituent and affiliated colleges, in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions and soaring temperatures across Telangana.
According to an official circular issued by the Deputy Registrar (Academic), the summer break, which was originally scheduled to end on May 31, has been extended until June 6, 2026.
University authorities have directed principals of campus, constituent and affiliated colleges to take note of the revised schedule and make necessary arrangements for the smooth resumption of academic activities. The circular stated that all academic activities will recommence from June 8, 2026. Copies of the notification have been circulated to the Dean of Student Affairs, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, Director of Academic Audit, Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar's Office for necessary action.
The decision is expected to provide relief to students and staff amid the intense summer conditions prevailing across the state.
