The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has achieved a significant dual milestone on 1st April 2026, combining operational success with intellectual engagement in the maritime sector.

The port recorded its highest-ever annual cargo throughput of 50.04 Million Tonnes during the financial year 2025-26, an accomplishment that coincides with its 50th financial year and adds special meaning to the Golden Jubilee celebrations. This record performance demonstrates sustained operational growth, improved efficiency, and effective partnership with various stakeholders. It further consolidates NMPA's role as an important maritime gateway along India's west coast.

Special thanks were given to the dedicated workforce, officers, and service providers whose hard work and teamwork, under the leadership of Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, and Deputy Chairperson S. Shanthi, helped deliver this outstanding result. A cake-cutting ceremony in the evening brought together port employees, users, and stakeholders to mark the historic achievement.

On the same day, NMPA successfully conducted a Maritime Seminar themed around "Maritime Adversities and Role of Stakeholders" and "Indian Port Act 2025" in Mangaluru. The event gathered maritime stakeholders, industry experts, port users, and government officials to examine current and emerging challenges in the maritime domain and to explore how the Indian Port Act 2025 can improve port governance and operational performance.
