The Hans India 3 weeks ago

Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika programme, a session focused on creating awareness among Resident Welfare Associations regarding waste segregation was held on Wednesday.

The campaign emphasised separating wet and dry waste to ensure effective solid waste management and a healthier environment. During the drive, forty-two training sessions were conducted across various localities with active participation from residents and sanitation staff. Officials explained the benefits of composting and reducing landfill burdens through responsible disposal.

Special drives were organised in Falaknuma, Jangammet, Moosarambagh, Kavadiguda, Mettuguda, and Santoshnagar, where teams encouraged public participation through community meetings. Associations appreciated the initiative and assured their cooperation in implementing these practices.

Deputy commissioners, SWM staff, and sanitation workers participated in these programmes to strengthen the city's cleanliness goals and promote sustainable urban living across all municipal circles.
