Vijayawada: A team from the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM), New Delhi, visited Vijayawada city on Monday to inspect the proposed locations identified for the development of Street Food Hubs under the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits.
During the visit, the NULM team conducted field inspections at the proposed sites and reviewed their suitability for establishing organised street food hubs. The team assessed various aspects, including infrastructure availability, sanitation facilities, accessibility for the public and the requirements of street food vendors.
Later, the NULM representatives held a meeting with Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra and discussed measures required for developing clean, safe and attractive Street Food Hubs in the city. The Commissioner suggested several steps to improve basic amenities, sanitation management and facilities for vendors and visitors.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Dhyanachandra said the proposed Street Food Hubs are aimed at providing organised business spaces for street food vendors while ensuring quality food services to the public.
Additional Commissioner (Projects) and Urban Community Development (UCD) in-charge Project Officer Dr D Chandrasekhar, Accounts Officer B Satyanarayana Murthy, Technical Expert Sujatha and others participated in the meeting.
