The historic Thousand Pillar Temple is poised for a major transformation as the government intensifies efforts to secure international recognition, with plans aligned towards UNESCO standards.

Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy said that both the Central and State governments were working in coordination to mobilise substantial funding and upgrade infrastructure at the iconic temple.

The MLA, accompanied by MP Kadiyam Kavya, visited the temple premises on Tuesday and offered special prayers. During the visit, Temple Executive Officer Anil Kumar and Chief Priest Upendra Sharma honoured the dignitaries with sacred offerings and ceremonial cloth, marking the significance of the occasion.

Officials informed the leaders that Rs.14.14 crore had been sanctioned by the Central Tourism and Archaeology Department for development works. These include the construction of underground drainage systems, installation of central lighting, development of gardens, restoration of the temple tank, and enhancement of amenities for devotees. Additionally, works are planned around the Nandishwara Mandapam to improve the overall ambience and accessibility of the temple complex.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Naini Rajender Reddy stated that the temple had not received due attention in the past, but assured that the newly sanctioned funds would be utilised transparently and efficiently. He highlighted that efforts were made under MP Kavya's leadership to secure funds from Union Ministers in New Delhi, and dismissed claims by BJP leaders as "laughable" regarding credit for the allocation.

He further questioned why adequate funding had not been secured over the past decade and alleged that the state receives only a fraction of the funds it contributes to the Centre. The MLA also revealed that Rs.30 crore had been allocated for beautification works in front of the temple, with several projects already completed and the remaining scheduled to commence soon.

Reiterating the vision, he emphasised that the ultimate goal is to elevate the temple to global prominence and achieve UNESCO recognition. He also appealed to local residents to extend full cooperation in the development initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the heritage site.
