The meteorological department has issued a statement about the rains and weather conditions in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions.
The statement said that the depression has weakened into a 'Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area'.
The system, lying over West Vidarbha and adjoining South Madhya Pradesh, moved west-northwestwards and weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over east central Rajasthan and adjoining areas by 05:30 AM today (August 1, 2026).
It has also been stated that the system is not expected to affect the Telangana state Monsoon trough at the mean sea level extends from the centre of the well-marked low-pressure area over east central Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh, through Sidhi, Dehri, and Malda, to Manipur further east.
The Hyderabad Meteorological department, moderate rain/thundershowers expected at one or two places in Telangana over the next 3 days and moderate rains are expected in many places on Sunday.
Meanwhile, authorities have warned Siddipet, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, and Nagarkurnool districts to be on alert for rains. The IMD has warned people not to take shelter under trees during lightning strikes.
The APSDMA has announced that moderate rains are likely in several places in Manyam, Alluri, NTR, Bapatla, Guntur, Vizianagaram, Palnadu, Polavaram and Kurnool districts on Sunday (August 2, 2026).
