Bandi Sanjay Kumar
Hyderabad: Ina scathing attack, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar called Chief Minister Revanth Reddy the "Modern-Day Goebbels," accusing him of governing solely on a foundation of lies and broken promises.
In a statement on Sunday, Bandi Sanjay criticised Revanth Reddy for allegedly deceiving women voters with a slew of unfulfilled assurances.
Sanjay Kumar said that Revanth Reddy, while campaigning, had promised to implement the Six Guarantees within 100 days--most notably, providing every woman in the state with a monthly payout of Rs 2,500, a tola of gold, and a scooter. However, after assuming office, the Chief Minister has reportedly reneged on these commitments, leaving many women feeling betrayed.
The BJP leader further accused Revanth Reddy of playing a key role in spreading falsehoods in the Congress and of blocking the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, describing it as an "irreparable betrayal" of the Southern states.
The bill, proposed by the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed to ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in legislative bodies and to increase the number of MP and MLA seats in every state by 50 per cent.
According to Sanjay Kumar, Revanth, and the INDIA alliance, spread baseless fears about the delimitation process to stall the progressive legislation, thereby denying women and southern states their due representation.
Drawing parallels with former Chief Minister KCR, Sanjay Kumar claimed that Revanth Reddy continues to rely on deception and propaganda. He warned that the women of Telangana and India would not forget this insult and that a political backlash would follow. The BJP, under State President N Ramachandra Rao plans to take their campaign exposing Congress's alleged duplicity to every village in Telangana.
