Kadiri: Police have invoked Preventive Detention (PD) Act against a habitual offender from Nandiganapalli village in Tanakal mandal and shifted him to Kadapa Central Jail, officials said on Saturday.
Kadiri DSP Shivannarayana Swamy stated that the accused, Pasupuleti Sai Kumar, was detained under PD Act following orders from district Collector M Shyam Prasad and SP S Satish Kumar.
As many as 43 theft cases registered against him across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Addressing the media at Kadiri police sub-division office, the DSP said similar action had previously been taken against other offenders, including Abubakar, Anjad, and Balamuralikrishna, under the same law. He warned that stringent measures would continue against individuals disturbing law and order. He advised known offenders and rowdy-sheeters to reform their behaviour and lead peaceful lives.
