Kara, starring Dhanush and directed by Vignesh Raja, is steadily gaining momentum in the Telugu market ahead of its theatrical release on April 30, 2026. Presented in Telugu by CH Satish Kumar under Vigneswara Entertainments, the film is being positioned as an intense family drama blended with survival and thriller elements.

Speaking about the project, Satish Kumar revealed that the film's strong content and Dhanush's popularity convinced him to acquire the rights. He emphasized that today's audience connects more with engaging storytelling than star value alone. The distributor, known for handling Telugu releases of films like Kabali, Singham 3, Arjun Reddy, and Salaar, said he aggressively pursued Kara after being impressed by the material.

Set against the backdrop of the 1991 Gulf War and fuel crisis, the movie follows the journey of an ordinary man trapped in life-altering circumstances. Satish clarified that while the trailer hints at a bank robbery and fuel shortage, the film is not a conventional heist thriller. Instead, it focuses heavily on family emotions, survival, and human struggles.

The distributor also shared that nearly 80 percent of the business has already been completed. Prominent producer Dil Raju will handle the Nizam region distribution, while Alankar Prasad is distributing the film in Krishna district. The team is reportedly targeting over 600 screens across Telugu states if the Hindi release plans are finalized.

Satish Kumar also revealed that acclaimed filmmaker Vignesh Raja's previous thriller Por Thozhil gave him complete confidence in the project. He added that Dhanush is extremely positive about the film and believes it has blockbuster potential.
