Narasaraopet: Minister for Energy and Palnadu district in-charge minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said that electricity access is being provided to 21,000 families in the district through the PM Surya Ghar scheme at a cost of Rs 400 crore.
He along with MP Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu, MLA Kanna Lakshminarayana, district in-charge collector Sanjana Sinha, State Libraries chairman Gonuguntla Koteswara Rao, inaugurated several development works at Kandlakunta village in Nekarikallu mandal of Palnadu district on Monday.
Gottipati Ravi Kumar laid the foundation stone for a new library building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in the village. He later distributed NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries. He inaugurated Swarna Grama Panchayat facilities, the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the three-phase electricity scheme, and dumping yards, besides inspecting and launching PM Surya Ghar solar systems installed in houses in the local SC colony.
Addressing a gathering, Gottipati Ravi Kumar said that solar panels had already been installed in 60 out of 120 houses selected under the first phase of the PM Surya Ghar scheme in Kandlakunta village, while installation in the remaining houses would be completed soon. He stated that 150-200 additional electricity poles would be installed for electrification in SC and ST colonies, and funds had been allocated to modernise four power transformers in the village. He also said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had responded positively to filling 600 vacant posts in the Energy Department and that recruitment would begin soon.
He assured that financial assistance of Rs 15,000 per child would be credited to mothers' bank accounts for children's education, regardless of the number of children, as announced earlier. He also urged people not to believe misinformation spread by opposition parties regarding the DSC notification.
MP Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu said that several roads in the village had already been completed based on public demand. He revealed that proposals had been sent for constructing another 230 roads across the district over the next three years to improve access to agricultural fields. He said Rs 1.90 crore had been sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide tap water connections to every household in the village and Rs 2.90 crore had been allocated for the development of four village tanks in the mandal. He promised support from MP-LADS funds for constructing a ramp to an irrigation canal and assured funds for a bhajan hall for BC communities and roads in the SC colony.
