Hyderabad: S Tapasya delivered a stellar performance to clinch the title in the Under-13 category at the Telangana Open District Powerlifting Championship.

The tournament was held at the Body Beast Gym in Mansoorabad.

Competing in the 44 kg weight category, Tapasya secured the strong woman title by lifting an impressive 112.5 kg in Deadlift and 37.5 kg in Bench Press. In boys 67.5 Kgs category Anwar Hussain clinched strong man title by lifting 110 Kgs in Bench Press and 225 Kgs in Dead Lift. The championship also witnessed remarkable performances from young prodigies in other age categories also. In Under-16 Category Vanisha bagged the gold medal by lifting 125kg in Deadlift and 35 kg in Bench Press.

In Under-7 Category Young lifter Diza put on an incredible show to win gold, lifting 42.5 kg in Deadlift and 15 kg in Bench Press. Rekha, President of the WPC Telangana Powerlifting Association, congratulated all the winners and participants for their exceptional dedication and sportsmanship.

To encourage the athletes, Body Beast Gym awarded a special cash prize of ₹10,000 each to 'Strongman' (Anwar) and 'Strongwoman' (Tapasya) of the tournament.
