Telangana Minister Vivek Venkataswamy has assured farmers that his government is working tirelessly to support their welfare and will procure every grain of paddy.
During a visit to a paddy procurement centre in Bavuraopet, Chennur Mandal, on Thursday, the Minister praised the high crop yields this season. He announced that the paddy procurement process would continue until 6 June.
Venkataswamy revealed that three warehouses have been allocated in Peddapalli to facilitate the process. He acknowledged a slight delay caused by a shortage of hamalis (loaders), but confirmed that 80 lorries-40 from Singareni and 40 from the Mining Department-have been assigned for transportation.
He assured farmers that with this fleet, they aim to swiftly procure all paddy and deliver it to mills.
