Sathupalli (Khammam): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said that the state's governance has emerged as a "role model for the entire country", with officials from several States studying its administrative practices.
Addressing a public meeting in Sathupalli, he said the Telangana model of governance is being recognised for its efficiency and welfare orientation.
Highlighting infra development in the healthcare sector, the Deputy CM said the government has released funds to create around 14,000 additional super-speciality beds across the state. He described healthcare and education as the "two eyes" of the government, adding that significant investments are being made in both sectors.
He inaugurated a 100-bed hospital in Sathupalli and announced additional healthcare facilities, including a 50-bed hospital in Kalluru and a 30-bed hospital in Penuballi. He also said steps are being taken to expedite the establishment of a nursing college in Sathupalli.
On education reforms, Bhatti Vikramarka said over 100 "world-class" schools are being constructed across the State with an investment of around Rs 200 crore each. He said the government has allocated funds to set up a Telangana Public School in every Assembly constituency.
He further added that diet charges in residential schools have been increased by 40 per cent and cosmetic charges by 200 per cent. From June 2, nearly 20 lakh government school students will be provided breakfast, milk and ragi malt daily, he added.
Focusing on skill development, the Deputy CM said Advanced Technology Centres will be established in Sathupalli, Aswaraopeta, Wyra, Khammam, Paleru and Madhira constituencies. He said these centres will be linked to a Skill University established under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's leadership.
He said intermediate graduates will be given admissions into these centres along with a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000, and training will be provided in collaboration with industry partners, including Tata, to improve global job opportunities.
On food security, he said the government has decided to distribute fine rice to 1.06 crore families across the State. In Khammam district, he said 57,088 new ration cards have been issued, taking the total beneficiaries to 13,22,929, covering nearly 90 per cent of the population.
Regarding irrigation, Bhatti Vikramarka said irrigation facilities in Khammam district, which previously covered 3,40,236 acres, would be expanded to an additional 3,16,264 acres. He said
Rs 2,500 crore has already been sanctioned for irrigation projects. On housing, he said under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, Rs 5 lakh is being provided per house, with around 4.5 lakh houses under construction across the state, including 3,500 houses per constituency. He said beneficiaries must upload weekly construction progress to ensure timely release of payments. He also announced the development of Puligundala Cheruvu and Kanakagiri Hills near Sathupalli into an eco-tourism project, aiming to place the region on the global tourism map.
The Deputy CM added that the government's vision is to ensure education for every child, food security for every family, and irrigation for agriculture, adding that the ultimate goal is to build trust and confidence among citizens under the "Indiramma Rajyam" framework.
