Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday announced a Talent Hunt initiative to select official spokespersons, stating that the process is aimed at identifying individuals committed to secular values and well-versed in national and state political affairs.
Addressing a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan Mahesh Kumar Goud said the initiative reflects a new trend introduced under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in party functioning. He said the selection of spokespersons would now be carried out through a structured Talent Hunt process instead of conventional appointments.
He said the objective of the initiative is to identify individuals with a strong understanding of political issues and a firm commitment to secularism. He added that the programme would provide opportunities for aspiring individuals, including those seeking to enter public life through social service.
Describing the initiative as a "golden opportunity," the TPCC chief said candidates would be selected beyond traditional party lines, with emphasis on talent and ideological clarity. He said the process is also intended to encourage youth participation in politics and nation-building.
TPCC Media and Communications Chairman Sama Rammohan Reddy said application forms for the Talent Hunt would be made available across social media platforms for 15 days. He said he would serve as the convener of the selection process and announced that further details regarding the schedule would be communicated after the application period concludes.
He explained that the selection process would be conducted at designated venues covering two erstwhile districts at a time. Candidates selected at the district level would advance to state-level competitions, which will be held in Hyderabad.
Sama Rammohan Reddy added that AICC Coordinator Sharan Patel would oversee the entire selection process to ensure transparency and uniformity.
