Speaking to the media after a meeting with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud at Gandhi Bhavan, Tummala said Ministers in charge of districts have been instructed to hold review meetings in all districts on Sunday to identify suitable candidates for various nominated positions.

Tummala said, "The process of filling nominated posts in the state has begun. Appointments will be made in accordance with the Chief Minister's decisions. In-charge Ministers are to conduct review meetings in all districts on Sunday."

"Appointments for corporation chairpersons will be undertaken soon. We will complete the filling of various nominated posts in a phased manner. We will also fill positions in the governing bodies of cooperative societies. Strengthening the party organisation is the primary objective of these appointments, " the Agriculture Minister said.

He said appointments to the posts of chairpersons of State corporations would be taken up shortly, while nominations to various boards, corporations and governing bodies of cooperative societies would also be completed in a phased manner.

The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy and focused on finalising guidelines for filling the posts of directors and chairpersons of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), besides nominated positions at the constituency, district and State levels.

According to the guidelines, the Minister in charge of each combined district will coordinate with local ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, former election candidates and senior party leaders to prepare a report on eligible aspirants.

The leaders also decided that 60 per cent of the nominated posts would be allotted to former Mandal Congress Committee presidents, district executive committee members, leaders of party frontal organisations and senior constituency-level leaders in recognition of their contribution to the party.

The meeting further resolved to ensure adequate representation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, minorities and women while making the appointments.

After consultations are completed and reports will be submitted from the districts, a final list of nominees will be prepared. The Chief Minister and the TPCC president will take the final decision on the appointments, party leaders said.
