Hyderabad: Major traffic diversions have been announced in Gachibowli following the commencement of infrastructure works at the IIIT Junction, Cyberabad Police said on Wednesday.
Cyberabad Commissioner Dr. Ramesh stated that construction of a six-lane road, an underpass and multi-level flyovers has begun at the busy junction, and the works are expected to continue for the next year. Motorists have been advised to follow alternative routes during this period to avoid congestion.
According to the advisory, commuters travelling from Gachibowli Junction towards Lingampally should take a left turn at IIIT Junction and proceed via Wipro Junction, Gaulidoddi, Gopanpally and Nallagandla.
Those travelling from Lingampally towards Gachibowli have been asked to take a left turn at HCU Depot and continue via Masjid Banda and the Botanical Garden to reach Gachibowli Junction.
Motorists heading from the Financial District towards DLF are advised to take a right turn at the stadium near IIIT Junction, followed by a left turn at Gachibowli Junction. Meanwhile, commuters travelling from DLF to the Financial District should take a right turn at Le Méridien and proceed via Gachibowli Junction to Wipro Junction.
The Commissioner urged the public to take note of the diversions and cooperate with traffic police to ensure smooth movement during the construction period.
