Kakinada: ONGC, Kakinada, organised a walkathon on Saturday as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 to raise awareness about cleanliness and encourage greater public participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The walkathon was flagged off by Executive Director and Asset Manager Prabal Sengupta, who joined ONGC employees and students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada in the awareness drive. Principal of JNTU College of Engineering, K Padma Raju, also participated along with students.
The event began at Ramanayapeta and proceeded to the Sarpavaram Junction-Boat Club circuit. Employees, students and the public took part in large numbers, carrying the message, "Swachha Aadat se Swachha Bharat." Participants highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, environmental responsibility and sustainable civic practices. Addressing the gathering, Prabal Sengupta said, "Cleanliness is not merely a campaign but a way of life. Every small effort made by each individual contributes to a healthier environment and a stronger nation.
