Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy said that the prestigious Warangal Multi Super Speciality Hospital, being developed to provide advanced healthcare services to the people of the erstwhile Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam districts, would be made operational within the next three months.
The MLA inspected the ongoing construction works of the hospital on Monday along with district medical and health officials, MGM Hospital Superintendent and representatives of L&T. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of construction, installation of medical equipment, infrastructure development and patient facilities. Speaking to the media, Naini said the state government was giving top priority to the completion of the project and that the hospital would emerge as a healthcare lifeline for lakhs of people across the three undivided districts. He noted that the facility, spread over nearly 20 lakh square feet with 24 floors, would be among the most prestigious healthcare institutions in Telangana.
The project, initially launched in 2022 at an estimated cost of Rs 1,100 crore, had witnessed slow progress in its early stages. However, after the formation of the Congress government, an additional Rs 279 crore was sanctioned, resulting in significant acceleration of the works. He said nearly 80 to 90 per cent of the construction had already been completed.
According to the MLA, almost all major advanced medical equipment required for the hospital had arrived, except for the MRI scanning system. Installation of equipment was progressing rapidly, while interior works were also nearing completion.
Although representatives of L&T indicated that the project might require another five months for full completion, Naini said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had directed officials to make the hospital functional within three months. To achieve this target, weekly review meetings were being conducted under the supervision of Minister Konda Surekha, Warangal in-charge Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, district collectors and public representatives.
The 1,000-bed hospital will house specialised departments such as cardiology, nephrology, neurology and oncology, enabling patients to access advanced treatment locally without travelling to Hyderabad. The facility is expected to cater not only to residents of the three undivided districts but also to patients from other parts of Telangana and neighbouring states.
Naini said plans were already underway for the recruitment of doctors and support staff. Existing personnel from MGM Hospital and the Super Speciality Hospital would be coordinated, while additional vacancies would be filled as required. He also appealed to the government to prioritise local youth for technical, support and worker-level employment opportunities.
The MLA stated that the hospital would not only provide world-class healthcare services to poor and needy patients but also create significant employment and livelihood opportunities in the region.
He added that the government was closely monitoring the project and any issues identified during the inspection would be immediately brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and concerned ministers for swift resolution.
Expressing confidence in the project, Naini Rajender Reddy said the Warangal Multi Super Speciality Hospital would usher in a new era in the region's healthcare sector and emerge as a centre of excellence offering high-quality medical services to the people.
