Water pipeline projects inaugurated in Bawana

New Delhi: The Delhi government has launched new Delhi Jal Board (DJB) pipeline projects in Jat Khor village and near Kali Mata Mandir in Prakash Vihar under the Bawana Assembly constituency, aiming to strengthen water supply and improve civic infrastructure in the area.

The projects were inaugurated by Delhi Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Cooperative and Elections Ravinder Indraj Singh, who described the initiative as a major step towards ensuring clean, reliable and uninterrupted water supply for residents, particularly in unauthorized colonies and rural pockets.

The minister said the government has accelerated infrastructure development in the constituency through ongoing works related to water pipelines, road repairs, drainage systems, footpaths and other civic amenities.

Speaking at the event, Ravinder Indraj Singh said real development is reflected not in announcements, but in the delivery of facilities directly to people's homes. He said the Delhi government is working to ensure that every household receives access to clean drinking water, improved sewer infrastructure and better urban services.

He said the goal of building a "Viksit Bharat" would be achieved through the transformation of Delhi's civic infrastructure. Roads, sewer lines and water pipelines are being modernised to create a more efficient and sustainable urban system, he added.

The minister said the projects are part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision of integrated urban development and are also aligned with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's commitment to expanding clean water access and civic services across Delhi.

He noted that several parts of the city had suffered for years due to neglected infrastructure, leading to recurring issues such as waterlogging, sewer overflow and leaking pipelines. The current development works, he said, are intended to provide permanent relief from these long-standing civic problems.
