Despite the installation of traffic signal systems nearly two months ago at the busy Sripuram Chowrasta and Tank Bund junction, the signals remain non-functional, leading to growing frustration among commuters.

Due to the lack of functioning signals, traffic congestion continues to worsen, and minor accidents are being reported frequently. Vehicles are forced to move very slowly as they get stuck in traffic, resulting in delays and inconvenience for commuters.

Residents are now urging the authorities to activate the traffic signals at the earliest. When the Additional SP was asked for an explanation, he stated that the signals were installed to address traffic issues. However, some development works at the junctions by the municipal department are still pending. He assured that once these works are completed, the signals will be made operational soon to ease traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, traffic congestion is increasing by the day in the Nagarkurnool district headquarters, causing severe inconvenience to the public. Major junctions, such as Sripuram Chowrasta, Ambedkar Chowrasta, Abdul Kalam Chowrasta, Naganool Chowrasta, and the area in front of the bus stand are witnessing heavy traffic, leading to difficulties for both motorists and pedestrians.
