The case was initially investigated by then Inspector B Muralikrishna, who arrested the accused on November 22, 2018. A charge sheet was later filed by then Crime ACP SK Maqbool. During the trial, the prosecution examined 23 witnesses. The prosecution team included Joint Director of Prosecutions Vijaya Lakshmi and Additional Public Prosecutor M Jnanamba, along with police officials Jagadeeshwara Rao and Ajit Singh Nagar Inspector Chandrasekhar.
