Kurnool: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) held a booth-level workers' meeting in Alur of Kurnool district on Saturday, with MLA Virupakshi and district party president SV Mohan Reddy participating in the programme.
Addressing party activists and local leaders, they outlined strategies for the upcoming local body elections and called upon the cadre to work unitedly to demonstrate the party's strength at the grassroots level.
The leaders stressed the importance of ensuring the victory of YSRCP-backed candidates in every village and directed workers to intensify their outreach efforts among voters. During the meeting, the leaders emphasized the need to verify voter lists and safeguard the party's support base.
They alleged that political rivals were attempting to remove genuine voters from electoral rolls and cautioned party workers against complacency.
"Before entering the election battle, we must first ensure that our votes remain intact. Even a small lapse could result in eligible voters being deleted without our knowledge," they said, urging booth-level leaders to conduct a thorough review of voter registrations and remain vigilant throughout the electoral process.
Criticizing the ruling coalition government, the YSRCP leaders accused it of failing to fulfil key promises made under the 'Super Six' welfare agenda, particularly to women and unemployed youth.
They contrasted this with the previous YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, claiming that it had implemented welfare schemes as promised and brought governance closer to the people through the village and ward secretariat system.
They stated that while people in other states often have to travel to major cities to access government services, residents of Andhra Pradesh were able to find government services near their homes under the YSRCP administration, describing it as a landmark model of people-centric governance.
