The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the release of the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Mains session 1 result 2026. As per the information bulletin released last year, the result was supposed to be released on February 12. However, the notice released on February 11 late evening shares that the result release has been postponed.
It will now be released by February 16. The exact reason behind this postponement has not been announced yet.
Over 13 lakh candidates who appeared in the session 1 exam conducted in January are eagerly waiting for the result release. Following the pattern, NTA released the provisional answer key and invited objections against the same. The final answer key will be prepared after considering all the objections raised by candidates. It is expected to be released any day now on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who appeared in the exam are advised to be ready with their application number and password to check result (once released).
JEE Mains 2026 Answer Key Controversy: What exactly happened?
One must be aware that the provisional answer key for the January 21 to 29 exams was released on February 4, and candidates were given time to raise objections till February 6. Soon after the release of the answer key, NTA faced questions after the Coaching Federation of India (CFI) flagged errors in the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 answer key. CFI identified 17 disputed questions and demanded bonus marks for 10, citing unclear wording, calculation mistakes, or multiple correct answers. The remaining seven questions had incorrect numerical values or wrong options, mostly in Physics. CFI said such errors impact rankings and criticized the Rs 200 objection fee.
The aspirants are getting anxious regarding the delay in results. One of them tagged Grok asking for possible reasons. The reply was, "Possible reasons for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 result delay include software or technical glitches in processing scores, as mentioned in some reports.
