Bhubaneswar, Feb 6 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with three prominent global business leaders on Friday to seek their assistance in empowering the state's youth and women through effective entrepreneurship initiatives.

The meeting took place at Lok Seva Bhawan, featuring Singapore-based GFTN chairman Ravi Menon, Accion CEO Michael Schlein, and Ant International chairman Douglas Feagin, who are in the city for the Black Swan summit, where President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to speak.

Government Initiatives and Infrastructure Development

During the meeting, Chief Minister Majhi welcomed the delegation and discussed the initiatives undertaken by the state government over the past two years aimed at transforming Odisha. He emphasized that substantial investments in infrastructure and the empowerment of farmers and women have begun to yield positive outcomes.

Support for Youth and Women Entrepreneurs

Majhi specifically requested the support of the visiting business leaders in establishing successful entrepreneurship models to further empower the state's youth and women, as noted in an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office.

Training and Employment Opportunities

Ravi Menon shared that the first group of 195 students from Odisha who received training in fintech skills has completed their program and secured positions in various corporate sectors, including opportunities in Singapore and other international markets.

Menon further stated that GFTN's partnership with Odisha is set to advance significantly, as they plan to conduct boot camps aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among skilled youth.
