Blow To Indian IT Aspirants: Trump Signs New Order Against H-1B Visa

A month after he suspended issuing of H-1B visas until the end of 2020, US President Donald Trump on Monday has signed an executive order against hiring H-1B visa holders for US Federal Jobs. In the line of the new order signed, technology workers on H-1B visas will be banned from replacing American citizens in federal government contracts.

To be precise, H-1B is the most looked upon among the India It aspirants who dream to work in the US market. The non-immigrant visa allows US companies to employ foreign workers while Silicon Valley giants Apple, Facebook, Google, HP, Oracle and Salesforce which primely depends on foreign workforce raised concerns over the move.

Followed by the order, all federal agencies to carry out an internal audit to assess whether they are in compliance with the requirement of appointing only US citizens and nationals to competitive service.

It all started with Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA) said that it will outsource 20 per cent of its technology jobs to companies based in foreign countries with which have the potential job great to over 200 Americans.
