Four Industrial Accidents In 3 Months: AP Govt Takes Crucial Decision
While the pandemic continues to batter Andhra Pradesh, a roll of industrial accidents, on the other hand, were rattling the sated throwing new challenge to the state government. According to the reports, Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City in Vishakapatnam's Parawada mandal alone registered 56 minor to major industrial accidents claiming 37 workers.
Amidst the increasing criticism from oppositions and the worker unions, Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday took a crucial decision. The state government has decided to undertake a special drive in the industries across the state to ensure a safe environment for workers.
A G.O was issued by the CMO constituting a committee to inspect industries at the district level. The six-membered committee chaired by the joint collector will reportedly inspect the safety measures taken up at industries especially the ones containing various toxic gases, hazardous chemicals.
The committee would then submit a report to the respective industries if any rectifications which need to be corrected within 30 days. The total drive is instructed to be completed in the next 3 months.
