Osmania Horror: COVID Patients Forced To Share Ward with Dead Bodies
Osmania Hospital which is treating patients from almost 100 years has now become a nightmare for the COVID patients. In a startling revelation, 20 patients in the isolation ward are forces to share the space with two dead bodies.
Into details, Osmania administration's inefficiency came into limelight on Tuesday with one of the 20 patients reporting the incident to media. "I was forced to spend almost 8 hours beside the dead body. It was a horrifying experience and none of the hospital staff was even bothered," said the patient.
Upon further investigation by the media, it was learnt that the patients were admitted days before they breathed their last and were still awaiting their COVID test results. While one of the dead is an old woman who was barely covered, said one of the 20 patients.
While the Osmania staff members are enquired over the same, it was revealed that there are no enough trollies for shifting the bodies. "We are provided with only two trolled while the COVID ward is reporting not less than 10 deaths per day," he added the staff.
According to the ICMR protocol, when a person dies in the hospital without giving a sample, the family members are instructed to immediately take the body. But if the samples are given and the patient dies before the reports come the body is shifted to the mortuary.
However, Osmania followed neither of the cases and left the bodies unattended which has been drawing criticism.
